Why seamless wins
Sectional gutters have a joint every 10 feet. In Minnesota, those joints are the first place to fail. Seamless gutters eliminate the weak points along the straight runs.
Our New Tech Machinery MACH II 5/6 sits in the driveway: coil in, continuous gutter out, cut to the measured length of each eave. The only joints left are corners and outlets — the places you can actually inspect and maintain.
Seamless vs sectional
Water finds every joint. In a freeze–thaw climate, every joint is a future call-back unless the system was built without them along the run.
| Detail | Seamless (what we install) | Sectional / big-box |
|---|---|---|
| Joints along the run | None — one continuous piece per eave | Every 10 feet, sealed with caulk |
| Where leaks start | Usually only at corners and outlets | At every joint as sealant ages |
| Fit to the house | Cut to the exact measured length | Assembled from fixed stock lengths |
| Color match | One coil = one consistent color | Sections can vary by batch |
| Winter performance | Fewer places for ice to pry seams open | Freeze–thaw opens joints first |
| Made where | In your driveway on our New Tech Machinery MACH II 5/6 | Pre-cut at a warehouse or store |
We roll 5" and 6" K-style profiles in .027 and .032 aluminum. Five-inch is standard for most Twin Cities homes. Six-inch moves roughly 40% more water and earns its keep on large roof planes, steep pitches, or houses that already overflow in heavy rain. Thickness matters on long runs and snow load: .027 is common; the heavier gauge stays straighter when ice and snow sit on the edge for weeks.
19 factory colors are available, including a copper-penny finish that reads as copper from the curb without copper pricing. Because every run comes from the same coil, you do not get a patchwork of slightly different whites along one eave.
Built here
If a quote says seamless but the crew shows up with 10-foot sections, you are buying sectional. Ask where the joints will be and whether the machine is on site that day.
We install seamless aluminum across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and western Wisconsin with the same hanger standards and 5-year workmanship warranty as every other Salva Home gutter job.
